Re: A different tack on immigration, Star Ledger 9/25/06
The Star
Ledger ran a story on how Edison Township, NJ is dealing with the burdensome
demands of the recently passed Federal law,
"Immigration Law Enforcement Act of 2006". AAF has submitted the following
viewpoint arguing, in essence, that local police departments cannot act as
agents of the Immigration department without serious repercussions on the
citizens of NJ. To read the Ledger's article, please

version of the Act, please

We
shared our concerns with Senator frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) but in his reply h
ignored the serous issue of police as immigration agents.
