 Congratulations to Mayor M. Khairullah

Paterson, NJ June 7, 2006:   T he  American Arab Forum,  AAF,  joins the Arab and Muslim community in New Jersey in extending its heart-felt congratulations to Mayor Mohammed Khairullah of Prospect Park, NJ. Mr. Khairullah won the Democratic ticket for mayor and will now face a Republican challenger in November. Republicans contenders have faired poorly in this overwhelmingly Democratic town. Arabs and Muslims comprise about 30% of the town's population of 7500.

Mr. Khairullah was appointed last year to serve the last  remaining one year of outgoing Mayor Kubofcik term.

Aref Assaf, President of AAF was elated by the great news of Mr. Khairullah’ victory. “His dedication for public service, hard campaigning and the outpouring support from the community have yielded results which make all of us proud.” Mr. Assaf added that “Now is the  time to proceed with the plans to run a very effective campaign against the Republican challenger in the November elections. If Mr. Khairullah wins the general elections, he will become the first dully elected Arab and Muslim American Mayor of Prospect Park. Mr. Khairullah served as a Councilman since 2001.
